FIVE STARS FOR VALE DA ESTRELA COTTAGE AND PDO CHEESES

Vale da Estrela PDO cheese and cottage cheese were very well received in the tasting sessions that took place over several weekends in five Continente stores.

The tests took place in Continente of Colombo, Cascais, Oeiras, Telheiras  and Matosinhos and it was with great praise that most people commented on the flavor and quality of the Vale da Estrela PDO cheese.

Vale da Estrela cottage cheese also had many positive notes and was one of the most sought after products by customers.

In both cases, one of the very positive references was the exclusive use of natural ingredients: milk, salt and thistle flower. For many of the tasters it was confirmation of what a PDO cheese consists of, but perhaps for most it was a novelty and a reason for praise because they realized, as they pointed out, the absence of chemicals or industrial processing.

On the other hand, the traditional way, with manual work by the cheesemakers, of the production process of the Vale da Estrela cheese was also recognized and praised.
