CHEESE MAKERS SCHOOL – TRAINING TO BE PROVIDED AT THE AGRICULTURAL SCHOOL OF VISEU AND CASTELO BRANCO

Within the scope of the Program to promote the Cheeses of Central Region, the “Cheese Makers School” started in Viseu and Castelo Branco on the 26th of October. The project is part of the Program for the Appreciation of the Chesses of the Centre of Portugal and has as a partner, in the Serra da Estrela Region, the Agricultural School of Viseu (ESAV).

VALE DA ESTRELA, as key part of the Program, expressed the willingness to integrate two students from the school of cheesemakers in an internship phase, thus contributing to the important reinforcement of the art of making artisanal cheese.

The initiative, following the Cheese makers School, aims to create new entrepreneurs for the PDO Cheese sector in the Central Region, seeking to rejuvenate the art of making cheese, in a traditional and artisanal way, thus maintaining a centuries-old tradition.

Vale da Estrela Dairy welcomes this initiative that stands for the affirmation of traditional know-how and qualification of a profession!
